The Catalan Hockey Federation participates in a focus group of the POWER project
The Catalan Hockey Federation recently participated in a focus group session organized by the UFEC, within the framework of the European project POWER. This initiative aims to promote a fair and balanced representation of women in the field of sport.The session, held at the headquarters of the UFEC and moderated by Sonia Güell, director of ESIDE, brought together representatives of different sports entities such as the Catalan Federation of Skating, Chess, Winter Sports, Hockey and the organization ConCu Igualtat.During the focus group, key issues related to gender inequality in sports media were addressed, such as:• The quantity and quality of media coverage.• Stereotypes and sexualization in visual and textual representation.• The lack of prominence of female sports performance.• The impact of these inequalities on sports careers, public perception and sponsorship opportunities.This exchange space allowed for the gathering of ideas and perspectives that will contribute to the development of strategies and practical guidelines for journalists and communication managers. The POWER project seeks to promote fair, stereotypical and empowering media representation for women athletes.

Xavier Adell Salvatella is re-elected president of the Catalan Hockey Federation
Xavier Adell Salvatella has been re-elected as president of the Catalan Hockey Federation for a new term, consolidating his leadership at the helm of the entity since 2017. Adell, who is facing his third consecutive term, has received the unanimous support of the Catalan hockey community, confirming the confidence in his project and in the direction taken by the Federation in recent years.Adell assumed the presidency of the Catalan Hockey Federation for the first time in April 2017, succeeding Narcís Carrió, and since then has worked intensely to modernize and strengthen hockey in Catalonia. His terms have been marked by the promotion of projects such as the digitalization of federative processes, the development of inclusive competitions such as Hockey+, the consolidation of the high-performance project at the CAR of Sant Cugat, and the promotion of grassroots and training hockey.In this new term, the president has highlighted his desire to continue consolidating ongoing strategic projects, as well as to face new challenges to continue growing in areas such as the promotion of sport, support for clubs and the expansion of Catalan hockey.The new board of directors that will accompany Xavier Adell in this third term will be formed by Josep Miquel Colomer, Toni Amat, Bea Lasheras, Joana Barbany, Itziar Ruedas, Martí Lloveras, Alicia Galy, Marc Hellín, Rosa Mª Marimon, Santi Ventalló and Ferran Muñoz.Adell's re-election reaffirms the Catalan Hockey Federation's commitment to excellence, inclusion and the continuous development of sport, remaining a benchmark in the Catalan and international sports arena.

Junior FC is proclaimed champion of the EHCO Trophy 2025
Junior FC made history in Amstelveen (Netherlands) by becoming champions of the EHCO Trophy 2025, one of the most prestigious competitions in European youth hockey. After an excellent group stage and an exciting final, the Catalan team has demonstrated its potential at the highest international level.In the group stage, Junior FC started with a 3-3 draw against Repton HC from England, followed by a 4-6 victory against the host Pinoké and a resounding 2-0 victory against Racing Club Bruxelles from Belgium. These results allowed them to reach the grand final as leaders of their group.In the final, Junior FC faced the Waterloo Ducks from Belgium. With a brilliant performance, the Catalan team dominated the match and won with a result that awarded them the title of champions.Congratulations to Junior FC for the well-deserved victory and for bringing the name of Catalonia to the top of European hockey!
