Edi Tubau, new head of the Catalan high performance men's line

The Catalan Hockey Federation has designed the new technical structure of the Catalan high-performance area (ARC) for the 2026-2027 season. In this sense, the entity has officially announced the incorporation of Eduard ‘Edi’ Tubau as the new head of the Catalan high-performance men's line, a role that he will combine with the leadership of the men's part of the Federation's sports project at the High Performance Center (CAR) in Sant Cugat. Tubau, who until now already maintained a close link with the organization as one of the physical trainers of the players and women on scholarships at the CAR, will take another step in the institutional organization chart to assume the management of the men's branch. To date, the Egara technician has also been part of the work team of the first women's team of Club Egara for 10 years. In addition, Tubau already has previous experience leading projects for the Federation, having been responsible for the women's ARC during the period from 2016 to 2019.

With this new appointment, Edi Tubau replaces Oriol Torras in the position. The Catalan Hockey Federation would like to publicly and sincerely thank Torras for all the work done, his commitment and the professionalism shown at the head of this line during his time at the entity.

For his part, the area of ​​high-performance women of the Federation will maintain its institutional continuity under the responsibility of Stefy Piris, who will have Anna Rabasseda as the second coach of the project. In turn, the men's line led by Tubau will have Xavi Domènech as the second coach.

A legendary career

With the election of Edi Tubau, the Federation is betting on a figure of recognized international prestige within the world of hockey. As a player, Tubau had a brilliant career, becoming an absolute benchmark for the Spanish national team, with which he competed in four consecutive Olympic Games (Sydney 2000, Athens 2004, Beijing 2008 —where he won the silver medal— and London 2012).

In addition to his Olympic success, he also has a third place in the World Championship (2006), a European Championship (2005) and a Champions Trophy title (2004), in addition to being awarded the best young player in the World in 2004. At the club level, he developed a large part of his successful career at Club Egara, in addition to playing for Club de Campo.

With this first-level addition, the Catalan Hockey Federation consolidates its present and future project to continue promoting the talent of young Catalan players towards maximum sporting excellence.
