Catalan hockey dominates the Spanish Youth Championship with a historic double from Club Egara

Catalan youth hockey has once again demonstrated its great national potential this weekend. The Club Egara facilities were the scene of a Spanish Youth Championship of the highest level, which closed with a historic double for the host team by winning both the women's and men's categories.

The Women's Youth of Club Egara won the national title after defeating Atlètic Terrassa HC (1-0) in a closely contested and even final. The Terrassa derby was decided in the last minute of the game thanks to a goal by Paula Aurell that avoided the shoot-outs.

The men's category offered another great final with Catalan colors between Club Egara and RC Polo. The match reached the final moments with the advantage for the Barcelona team, but a penalty converted by Quique Morros at the end of the game established the final tie on the scoreboard.

In the shoot-outs, local goalkeeper Guillem Herrero became the main protagonist with a decisive performance under the posts that ended up giving the title of Spanish champions to the Terrassa team.

A brilliant season for the Catalan base

This double for Club Egara is part of a particularly prolific year for the entity. With this triumph, the club achieves an unprecedented milestone in state field hockey by being proclaimed Spanish champion in the three women's training categories in the same season (Infantile, Cadet and Youth).
