
Catalan hockey recognizes the successes and trajectories of the season at the 56th festival

Last Friday, the Catalan Hockey Federation held the 56th Catalan Hockey Festival at the Sala Clavé in Sant Cugat del Vallès. This annual gala was a unique evening to honor the successes of the season, recognize outstanding trajectories and celebrate the passion for our sport. The event was attended by authorities such as Abel Garcia, Secretary General of the Department of Sports, and Núria Escamilla, Councilor for Sports of the Sant Cugat del Vallès City Council.
The awards of the night
- Recognition of the Catalan teams for the titles achieved in Catalan competitions during the season.
- Award for the best player in the Hockey+ League: Josué Emmanuel Álvarez.
- Award for the best player in the Primera Catalana: Pepe Borrell and Alex Casasayas (men), and Andrea Puig (women).
- Promising Player Award: Ton Morán, Ivet Martí and Marta Armenteras.
- Award for the best federated referee: Ot Corominas and Bernat Carbonell.
- Award for the best federated referee: Gaby Raimondi.
- Bronze medal for refereeing merit “Josep Salvatella”: Jonathan Gómez
- Award for the best teammate “Quico Carné”: Bernat Olivares.
- Bronze medal for Sports Merit: Marc Recasens and Maialen Garcia.
- Award for the player with the most experience: Salvador Salvatella and Annick Verhoeven.
- Farreras Valentí Award: Laia Vidosa.
- Lluís Ysamat Trophy: Luis Calzado.
Outstanding recognitions
Golden Stick for the Hockey+ project
The highest award of the night went to the Hockey+ project, recognized for its work in favor of social inclusion through sport. In addition, it was proudly announced that from September the Catalan Hockey+ selection will return, a step forward in the promotion of equal opportunities.
Medal of Honor
- Gabriel Masfurroll, president of the Alex Foundation, for his support of the Hockey+ project and his defense of equal opportunities in sport.
- Jordi Ribes, for 12 years as secretary of the Board, standing out for his wisdom and for giving a voice to the most modest clubs.
- Aleix Villatoro, for promoting the inclusion of hockey in the Sant Cugat CAR and being a reference in Catalan sports leadership.
Gold Badges
- Marc Malgosa Torrent, for his tireless commitment to the Atlètic Terrassa Hockey Club.
- Antoni Puig Camí, for his dedication to the development of veteran hockey and the Hockey Museum.
- Maria Josep Pujol, for her contribution to the Board of Directors of the Federation.
- Nick Irvine, the iconic voice of international hockey, for his unparalleled career.
Federation Plaque of Honor
- Àngel Càrdenas, for his career in local sports journalism.
- Jordi Robirosa, for his connection to Catalan hockey through the broadcasts of TV3 and Esport3.
- Francesc Salvatella, for his leadership as president of the Hockey for Terrassa Association.
Stick Awards for History
In recognition of the exceptional careers of Ignasi Escudé, Xavier Escudé, Juantxo Garcia Mauriño and Xantal Giné, all with Olympic participations that have marked the history of Catalan hockey.
During the gala, the president of the Federation, Xavier Adell, highlighted the role of Catalan hockey as a sporting and social benchmark, thanking the work of all the awardees and the involvement of the sports community.
The event, which was inaugurated by the secretary general of the Department of Sports, Abel Garcia, concluded with the words of the councilor for Sports of Sant Cugat, Núria Escamilla, who highlighted the relationship between the city and Catalan hockey, reaffirming the commitment to the growth of the sport.
