The municipal pavilion of Can Jofresa also witnessed this Sunday an event of great importance for the world of Catalan hockey. Before the men's final of the Catalan Championship of Honor Division of indoor hockey, the Catalan Hockey Federation awarded its Medal of Honor to Marcos Hofmann, recognizing an exemplary career and his decisive contribution to the growth and development of our sport.
Marcos Hofmann, former president of the Junior Club, current president of the European Hockey Federation and vice-president of the International Hockey Federation, has been a key figure in the projection of hockey on a national and international scale. His commitment goes far beyond the institutions he has represented, marking a before and after in the history of our sport. This distinction highlights his tireless dedication and his impact as a sports leader, with a transformative vision that continues to leave its mark.
At the same event, the European Hockey Federation wanted to recognize the work of Miquel Cunill by presenting him with a commemorative diploma for his involvement as a volunteer. Cunill was accompanied by Carles Pons, with whom he led the coordination of volunteer work during the EuroHockey U21 Championship, held last summer at Atlètic Terrassa. Under his leadership, a team of 130 volunteers contributed to the success of a tournament that brought together the best young talents on the continent, with 10 days of intense competition and a total of 40 games.
With these recognitions, the Catalan Hockey Federation reaffirms its commitment to those who dedicate their time and effort to the growth of hockey, both on and off the playing field.
