Catalonia makes history with a double in the Spanish Regional Under-18 Championship

22/12/2024

The Catalan Under-18 teams have been resoundingly successful in the Campeonato de España Autonómico Under-18, held from December 19 to 22 in Valencia, winning titles in both the men's and women's categories. With this double, Catalonia reaches a historic record: six consecutive editions winning both championships, consolidating itself as an indisputable reference in the national hockey scene.

The women's final was a very tight duel against Madrid, which was decided in favor of the Catalans with a tight score of 1-2. The men's team, on the other hand, displayed an incontestable superiority in the final against Valencia, achieving a resounding victory by 0-11.

Individual recognition for Catalan talent

In addition to the collective success, the tournament has served to highlight the individuality of Catalan hockey. Enrique Fanlo and Paula Aurell received the championship's top scorers award, while Anna Marquès and Carlos Bultà were chosen as the tournament's best players in their respective categories. These awards reflect the talent and dedication of Catalan athletes and the excellent work of the technical staff that accompanies them.

A triumph full of symbolism

This championship has been something more than a competition: it has demonstrated the resilience and strength of Catalan hockey. The success in Valencia consolidates Catalonia as a reference in this sport, not only for its results but also for the constant work in the training of high-level athletes.

Catalonia continues to lead the way in state hockey and reaffirms its commitment to continue working to maintain this excellence in the future.
