DHF: Junior FC revalidates the title of champion of Catalonia

Junior FC revalidates the title of champion of Catalonia in the Women’s Honor Division and is now in its fourth consecutive season. Junior FC played the final match on Sunday, September 13, at their facilities against Real Club de Polo. The meeting was held behind closed doors following the protocols established by the Department of Health of the Generalitat de Catalunya. There was access control which was restricted to players, staff and authorized persons. The attendance of Jordi Sans, director of the UFEC and the director of the Catalan Sports Council, Antoni Reig, who was in charge of delivering the cup to the champions, should be appreciated.

The Sant Cugat team won the title by winning the final match at the Real Club de Polo by 1-2. The first goal was scored by Laura Bosch from the penalty spot four minutes after the start of the match. The second came five minutes into the second quarter when Berta Serrahima scored from the penalty spot. The goal of Real Club de Polo went on the scoreboard two minutes before the end of the match, was a penalty and was transformed by Isabel Zaldúa.

 

The members of the final were Sandra Adell, Kety Gorgadze and Rosa Boix, Esteve Casas worked as a Technical Officer.

 

Club Egara and Atlètic Terrassa played the match for third-fourth place and the team from Pla del Bonaire won 2-1. The streaks opened the scoring in the second quarter with a goal from Lídia Bosch. Club Egara's second goal was scored by Berta Bonastre and the first of the yellows was scored by Ivet Badia, 2-1, a result that closed the match.

 

The Catalan Championship of Women’s Honor Division began in the 1957-1958 season and this year has celebrated its 64th edition. In this championship have participated five Catalan teams who play in the Spanish league this category and are RC de Polo, Athletic Terrassa FC Junior Club Egara and CD Terrassa
